Family photos freeze the moments we’re often too busy living to notice — the exhausting third trimester, newborn snuggles, and the joyful chaos of raising little ones.



As a Pinehurst, NC photographer, I believe those real moments matter more than perfectly posed smiles.

When Courtney reached out, she told me she already had the classic photos of everyone looking at the camera. This time she said, “I just want you to capture us exactly as we are.”

So we let the kids play. We laughed a lot. And when she received her gallery, it was filled with the love and connection that makes their family them.



The truth is, I used to dread family photos myself. I didn’t understand their value back then. Now, photographing families in Southern Pines, I get to preserve the moments families will someday realize meant everything.

Your kids don’t need to stand still or give me a perfect smile. In fact, I’d rather they don’t.

When local Pinehurst families work with me as their photographer, the session is all about letting kids be kids. We play games, tell silly jokes, talk about their favorite animals, and follow their curiosity wherever it goes. If they have an idea, we try it. If something isn’t working, we simply move on and keep the fun going. The magic happens in those in-between moments...the giggles, the running, the way they wrap their arms around you when no one asked them to. Those are the moments families want to remember, and the ones I love capturing most- especially with the gorgeous scenery Southern Pines has to offer.
